Repression of an Acetylornithine Permeation System.

چکیده
plete mixture of amino acids resulted in a large suppression of the incorporation. The reason for this effect is also unknown. It may be caused by an imbalance of amino acids since, in a cell-free preparation from E. coli, a balanced mixture of amino acids that reflect the composition of E. coli protein is superior to an equimolar mixture of amino acids. Summary.-A system from developing maize endosperm consisting of washed particles plus a pH 5.2 fraction from the supernatant that actively incorporates leucine-C4 -into protein is described. The system requires a source of energy and GTP. The incorporation is inhibited by treatment with ribonuclease or chloramphenicol. When operating optimally, the incorparationefficiency is 1 to 2 per cent of the added isotope making this system comparable to the mammalian systems.

Control of arginine biosynthesis in Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Arginine biosynthesis in Pseudoinonas aeruginosa proceeded via transacetylation of acetylornithine with glutamate ; it resembled Micrococcus glutamicus rather than Escherichia coli. Of four arginine biosynthetic enzymes, N-acetyl-y-glutamokinase, N-acetylornithine glutamate transacetylase, ornithine transcarbamylase and argininosuccinase determined under various conditions of arginine excess an...
متن کاملEnzymes of agmatine degradation and the control of their synthesis in Klebsiella aerogenes.
The degradation of agmatine to succinate by Klebsiella aerogenes occurs in five steps. The enzyme catalyzing the first step, agmatinase, is induced by agmatine. The enzymes catalyzing the second and third steps, putrescine aminotransferase and 4-aminobutyraldehyde dehydrogenase, are induced by putrescine and also by their product, 4-aminobutyrate. The enzymes catalyzing the fourth and fifth ste...
متن کاملShortcut Node Classification for Membrane Residue Curve Maps
comNode classification within Membrane Residue Curves (M-RCMs) currently hinges on Lyapunov’s Theorem and therefore the computation of mathematically complex eigenvalues. This paper presents an alternative criterion for the classification of nodes within M-RCMs based on the total membrane flux at node compositions. This paper demonstrates that for a system exhibiting simple permeation behaviour...
متن کاملAn alternative bacterial expression system using Bacillus pumilus SG2 chitinase promoter
Background: Chitin is an abundant natural polysaccharide found in fungi, algae, and exoskeleton of insects. Several bacterial species are capable of utilizing chitin as their carbon source. These bacteria produce chitinases for degradation of chitin into N-acetyl-D-glucosamine. So far, regulation of the chitinase encoding genes has been studied in different bacterial species. Among Bacillus spe...
متن کاملOrganization and control in the arginine biosynthetic pathway of Neurospora.
Eight enzymes involved in the conversion of acetylglutamate to arginine in Neurospora crassa were studied. The data indicate that of three enzymes early in the sequence, only the first, acetylglutamate kinase, is a nonorganellar enzyme. The next two, N-acetyl-gamma-glutamyl-phosphate reductase and acetylornithine aminotransferase, are in the mitochondrion, which was previously shown to contain ...
